Toasted Sesame & Ginger Dressing/Marinade

This recipe provides a unique flavor profile that can be used again and again in a myriad of different culinary applications. I originally designed this as a salad dressing but found it to be a great sauce and/or marinade!

Dressing/marinade/sauce:

1/4 cup Toasted sesame seeds, then crushed in a mortar and Pestle.

3 Tbsp Coconut Aminos

3 Tbsp Rice Vinegar

1 Tbsp Honey

1 Tbsp Oyster Sauce

1 tsp Ground Ginger

1/4 tsp Salt

Mushrooms:

1/2 lbs your Favorite Mushrooms

Directions:

  1. Pour 1/4 cup of sesame seeds in non-stick pan on the stove top, sauté on medium-high heat, constantly stirring until fragrant. Pour into a mortar and smash the toasted sesame seeds into a powder with the pestle.

  2. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Let sit in the fridge for a couple hour so the flavors can mesh together.

  3. When sautéing mushrooms cook the mushrooms until the release their liquid, then add 2 Tbsp of the dressing (per 1/2 lbs of mushrooms) and stir-in until fully absorbed.

This dressing/marinade is depicted coating a delectable miatake cluster that was salted and fried then served over a simple fresh salad.
